NIRNAETH (approximately meaning "Tears") is a very motivated French Black / Death Metal band. "Thrown Athwart the Darkness" is the second autoproduced release they succeed to release through their trillions of gigs a year, due to their involvement in the promoter "Le Chant du Bouc". The CD came along a professional pressbook. This morning I knew only their band name and tonight I could tell you their whole biography. About their art, all in all, I would say NIRNAETH is such good band. The guitars and bass structures particularly impressed me. It's complex, intelligent riffs that never bore the listener.
Their rythmics are dynamic and ever progressing. Even if that band smells the French plonk, the whole al aspect is packaged in a Swedish Black / Death style. The faster parts remember me of DARK FUNERAL as some others, like melodic Thrash, made me travel to these snowy Norwegian mountains to meet these yetis from IMMORTAL. I cant declare haven heard a vocal like the Zigouille's one before... but to orientate you I would say he's a little bit similar to France's ATROPOS one. And its not a bad thing to say! Briefly, NIRNAETH will appeal to fans of DISSECTION and DIMMU BORGIR (if you erased the keyboard) with their highly inspirated melodicism.
